In the Company of Chance

The purpose of the project ‘In the company of chance’ was to develop my method and visual language within street photography. Over two weeks, I travelled to Kraków, Bologna, and London, where I opened my photographic window onto everyday moments and subtle details, which together form a subjective sense of the cities.

“I am drawn to large cities where contrasts coexist – where the ugly or odd deserve to be immortalised, and where the seemingly beautiful can sometimes feel uninteresting. My process begins with a city that has sparked my curiosity. I wander its streets without a clear plan, letting my steps and gaze be guided by a feeling, a wonder, or a hint of a story.

I photograph intuitively, in the company of chance. The subjects I seek are visually appealing, interesting, and contain fragments of something greater. The selection is selective and contemplative; through image editing, I refine the photograph’s essence and add my tonal quality.”
